WildArt is the home of creative bird photography, celebrating those who see beyond the literal.
We embrace artistic interpretation, experimentation, and individuality in bird imagery - birds set small within vast landscapes, slow-shutter motion blur, close-up abstracts, in-camera multiple exposures and dynamic studies of birds in flight.
We are drawn to work that reimagines the subject: birds reduced to silhouette and contrast, shaped by shadow, geometric form, or minimalist composition, or rendered as soft, ethereal scenes where light, mist, and atmosphere take precedence.
This is a space for curiosity, creativity, and risk-taking.

WildArt Bird Photography Awards is a story about three friends from different continents of the world, brought together by their shared passion for birds and nature, and a desire to communicate this love through the medium of creative photography.
For all of us, bird photography has been a vital element of our lives that has shaped our personalities, channelled our creativity, and provided a way of expressing our emotions.
The competition is based on our core values of honesty, transparency and integrity - values that define each of us as individuals.

Meet The Founders.
Rob is a professional nature photographer and author whose images have appeared in newspapers, magazines, books, and websites worldwide. He has written numerous magazine articles and contributed to several natural history books, including Life-Size Birds (HarperCollins), Collins Complete Guide to Butterflies and Moths, and A Naturalist’s Guide to Insects of Britain & Northern Europe (John Beaufoy Publishing).
He was a founding director, competition coordinator, and public face of Bird Photographer of the Year from 2015 to 2020, helping to develop it from its inception into a major international competition. During this time, he also played a key role in producing the first five accompanying books published by HarperCollins.
Rob is the founder of WildArt, a brand dedicated to encouraging creative nature photography. He is deeply passionate about the natural world, and is particularly interested in how photography can go beyond literal documentation to become a more expressive and interpretive medium. WildArt was created to inspire photographers to experiment, take creative risks, and explore new visual approaches to nature photography. This began with WildArt Photographer of the Year, the precursor to the current WildArt Bird Photography Awards

Joshua Galicki is an award-winning wildlife photographer, podcaster, writer, and conservation storyteller whose work spans from the remote corners of the globe to the remarkable ecosystems in his own backyard. Based in Claiborne, Maryland, Josh's passion for avian photography was born in rural Pennsylvania, where songbirds outside his childhood window sparked a curiosity that would shape his life's work.
His images have taken him to polar ice, tropical cloud forests, and windswept islands, yet he remains committed to celebrating the wildlife that thrives closest to home. Josh believes that photography can be both beautiful and informative: a tool for inspiring wonder and fostering conservation. His mission is simple: to help others see that nature's most powerful moments are often waiting just outside the door.

An Australian nature photographer and author, Georgina is driven by a dedication to the conservation of the continent’s "weird and wonderful" biodiversity. Often describing herself as an "Invertebirder," she has committed her career to documenting the intricate lives of creatures that fly, crawl, and hop—transforming overlooked species into fascinating and engaging subjects worthy of our protection.
Through her work, Georgina advocates for the protection of fragile ecosystems, using her lens to bridge the gap between scientific urgency and public appreciation. A multi-award-winning photographer and international judge, she is the author of two Australian Geographic books: For the Love of Birds (2021) and For the Love of Flora (2023).
